Our Technology
Controllers that Mimic Actual InstrumentsOur system uses specially designed input "forceps" that look, feel, and respond like actual microsurgery forceps. The forceps are tracked with seven degrees of freedom (x, y, z, pitch, yaw, roll, apposition) at sub-millimeter precision, and they are used to control virtual microsurgery instruments in a virtual surgical field.
The specific instrument controlled by each forceps is software selectable, providing the user with a full complement of microsurgery tools that can grasp and manipulate virtual objects such as tissue, needles, or sutures. |
